With the Suzuki Superbike Showdown at Road Atlanta in the books, Kyle Wyman has shown consistency in the first two rounds of the AMA Pro Supersport series. After a 4th place finish in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway, Wyman led the race and came away with a 6th place finish in Round 2. The wet event in the middle of the race caused a group of riders to go down as well as a red flag, but the race was restarted after a 20 minute delay with a sunny sky.
Kyle got the holeshot on the restart from the 3rd position and fell back on the first lap, but was able to find his way back to the lead on lap 4. “It felt good to work my way back up to the front and hang with the boys for a few laps,” he said, commenting on the first 5 laps of the race. “I just have to find a few tenths here and there. A little more experience will get me there, but it’s good to have a couple consistent finishes in the beginning of the year, because I feel like I’m improving every session I’m on the track.”
The next round of the series will take place at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama for the Honda Superbike Classic. Be sure to stay tuned as we follow Kyle’s progress as an AMA Pro Road Racer!
